Pets for the Homeless3

Pets of the Homeless works to help keep vulnerable people and their pets together by alleviating the burden of providing essential pet care during times of hardship. We assist by feeding and providing veterinary care as well as emergency boarding to the animals to help relieve the heartache for those who are unable to care for their pets.

We believe that the companionship and the therapeutic value of pets is immeasurable and nothing should come between a loving owner and their pet. Not homelessness. Not financial hardship. Not domestic violence. Pets are family – and nothing should stand in the way of that.

Kids with Cancer Foundation

Kids with Cancer Foundation has supported children with cancer Australia wide since 1998, by providing financial assistance to children’s hospitals, funding: ward refurbishments, salaries, capital works projects and more importantly cancer research. We pay financial assistance daily to families of pre-teen children that are receiving treatment in our hospitals. We help by paying household bills, such as mortgage payments, rents, utility bills, grocery vouchers and sadly sometimes funerals.

Our promise to you is 100% of all funds received by our foundation will be passed on to where they are needed most, our kids!

They’ve assisted 74 property families so far but with your support they could help so many more.

Not only do Habitat for Humanity Australia assist families within Australia but all across the Asia-Pacific. They help people have access to safe and decent housing, along with access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene and livelihood training to build better lives. Habitat for Humanity Australia believes a stable, secure home creates the foundation for change. Your support is instrumental in ensuring every family has a safe place to call home.

Australia’s toughest cancers meet Australia’s toughest trail run.

Upper gastrointestinal cancers have some of the lowest survival rates out of all major cancers. There are no early detection tests, limited treatment options and a lack of breakthrough in medical research. At Pancare Foundation, it’s our mission to improve survival and support for the 12,400 Australians diagnosed each year.

Pancare Foundation are Australia’s leading charity committed to inspiring hope, raising awareness, supporting families and funding research for upper gastrointestinal (GI) cancers – pancreatic, liver, stomach, biliary and oesophageal cancers. We provide support for people living with cancer and their families from the point of diagnosis through to treatment and beyond. We also fund world-leading research to increase survival and improve treatment options.

Royal Flying Drs Service

Your strides can bring better health and wellbeing to the bush!

In Australia, there are more than 42,000 people who cannot easily access basic healthcare because of where they live—no ambulance, no GP, no midwife, no dentist, no mental health professional within an hour’s drive.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service has been helping Australians bridge this gap. For more than 90 years we have been providing extensive primary health care and emergency care services to those who live, work and travel in rural and remote Australia. But did you know that we are more than 95% donor funded? It is only because of generous donations that we are able to do what we do – and we need your help.

Participating in Ultra-Trail Australia allows you to challenge yourself and support your own health and wellbeing. Joining the Flying Doctor Ground Crew allows you to really go the distance and contribute to better health and wellbeing services in the bush, raising much needed funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Stillborn Foundation

Sadly, six babies are stillborn every day in Australia. The Stillbirth Foundation Australia is a 100% community-funded charity dedicated to reducing the incidence and impact of stillbirth through research, education and advocacy.

Since 2009, we have funded more than $1.5 million in research grants to help find a cause and prevention measures to reduce preventable stillbirth, and bereavement care programs and resources to support bereaved families in Australia.

Running – and trail running, in particular – means a lot to our bereaved families, who benefit from the therapeutic benefits of hitting the trails and fundraise for research in the name of their much-loved babies. Look out for our team in their Stillbirth Foundation singlets and help us raise vital funds for stillbirth research.

RB Rectangle with mission statement 01

The Run Beyond Project uses running as a mechanism to empower high school students in need, including refugees, indigenous students, students in out-of-home-care, and those impacted by family violence and long-term parental unemployment.

Run Beyond trains teachers to implement our program in their own schools, with their students, who know, and trust them, a model which maximises the opportunities for success.

Students commit to training for a challenging, but achievable Goal Race. The theoretical aspects of the program complement this training and develop personal and social capabilities, which enable students to thrive, beyond the finish line, and beyond the context of running, to achieve success personally, and to be positive contributors to the community.

Founded by enthusiastic marathon runner and teacher, David Criniti, in 2015 at Chester Hill High School, we’ve empowered 167 students from 19 schools thus far, and need your help to continue to do so beyond 2021!

Your donations help get our students to the start line of their Goal Race. Their commitment will get them to the finish line. Not only do they benefit from the program, but their presence at our races makes for a more inclusive running community.

Use your run at UTA to empower young people in need!
